I fell in love with this photo the minute I saw it. And as much as I loved the room and the elegant furnishings, what caught my eye was the dog.
On countless shoots, I’ve seen dogs and cats find just the right place to be to make it into a photo. (The trick is that pets go toward the light, just like photographers do!) This bulldog had it all figured out.

Did you spot him? In case your eyes lingered on the Empire eight-arm chandelier or the 18th-century Persian rugs, I’ll pass on the clue that he’s looking in the door. This elegant home belongs to collectors Neal and Lisa Kirkpatrick, who in addition to loving dogs and antiques, love a good cause.

I take little convincing about the quality and design of Danish furniture. The wood and the clean cut lines are totally to my taste and always seem to fit in with the décor of the room I am furnishing.
When I found this perfect set of units for the entrance to my house, I fell in love with them on sight. These units make it easy to just come in and hang up your coat and sit down and take off your shoes so as not to dirty the floors or clutter the house with discarded clothing. For all that, the area does not look like a cloak room or dumping ground.
