Don’t Throw It Away; Repurpose It!

Necessity really is the mother of invention. Take a look at things around you, and see how clever you can be at repurposing them. Here are five items that began their lives in very different ways. Creative reuse can be fun, not to mention eco-friendly.

1. Utensil Storage No one would ever guess these utensil caddies used to be plastic boxes designed for storing Beanie Babies! They were primed and painted, wrapped with a little fabric around the rims, and finished off with some twine.

2. “Leather” Cover You’ve got to see it to believe it: a leather look made from eggshells! A full tutorial shows how you can achieve this amazing effect.

In Honor of a Special Grandma

Hi friends & family, some sad news over here at the blog today. My Grandma passed away this week and, because this blog has turned into such an important journal of our lives, we thought it would be appropriate to share a few of her memories.

Grandma Rita was a generous and kind woman – someone who has left a mark on many many hearts. While her passing has been incredibly difficult, her life was abundantly blessed! Here are some photos that make me smile:
