
Copenhagen based multidisciplinary design studio SPACE has just finished their restaurant project Geist, which is the brain-child of Michelin starred chef Bo Bech. SPACE worked closely with the chef to make sure that the interior design of the restaurant reflected the relaxed nature of the cuisine, whilst capturing the wild and flamboyant universe of Bo Bech.

A typical part of the restaurant interior is the relaxed bar area where guests can enjoy an intimate supper.

Amnesty International invited Maarten Baas to design a piece to support their campaign against the increased suppression of writers, journalists, artists and activists. In honor of the Chinese Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, Maarten Baas designed The Empty Chair.
In 2010 Liu Xiaobo was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize for his peaceful battle for fundamental human rights. Liu Xiaobo could not accept the prize in person, because he was in jail serving a 11 year imprisonment for ‘undermining of the state’. The
Monty Don, in a recent TV series on the gardens of Italy, remarked that his friends know he has visited a lot of gardens and often ask him ‘What is the best garden in the world?’. So, while visiting Ninfa, he told us: ‘This is it’. I too have visited a lot of gardens and, though I could not name a ‘best garden’ have ventured a list of The World’s Top Ten Gardens. My list does not include Ninfa. Nor have I been there, but I would like Monty to be questioned or psychoanalysed to discover the reasons for his choice.
